Terms of service
These terms cover the services PHPFixes ("we", "us") provides to you ("you", the customer). By approving a quote or paying for a service, you agree to them. They're written to be read, so if anything is unclear, email [email protected] before you book.
1. What we do
We scan servers you control for vulnerable PHP and signs of compromise, update PHP to builds that fix known security issues, upgrade end-of-life PHP to supported versions, apply related configuration hardening, and provide ongoing PHP security maintenance under a Care plan. The exact scope of each job is the plan you choose plus anything we agree in writing before work starts.
2. Prices and payment
- Prices are fixed per server or per site, in US dollars, as listed on phpfixes.com when you book. Sales tax is added where it applies.
- We confirm the price and start time in writing before any work starts. Payment is due before work starts.
- Work outside the agreed scope is quoted first and billed only with your approval.
- Care plans run for 12 months from the start date. We'll remind you before renewal, and you can cancel the renewal at any time.
3. The no fix, no fee guarantee
If we can't get a server onto a PHP release that fixes the issues in scope, you don't pay for that server. If you've already paid, we refund it in full. The guarantee applies per server, and covers our fee for the plan you bought. It doesn't apply if the job couldn't be completed because access wasn't provided, or because you asked us to stop.
4. Access to your systems
- You authorize us to access the servers you list, only to do the agreed work. You confirm you have the right to grant that access.
- We use temporary credentials you can revoke at any time, log the commands we run, and remove our access when the job is done.
- We don't copy your databases or files off your systems.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep a current backup of anything you can't afford to lose. We take a snapshot or backup before changes where your setup allows, but your backups remain your responsibility.
- Tell us about anything unusual: custom builds, compliance requirements, maintenance windows or other people working on the same servers.
- Keep your hosting account, licenses and third-party software in good standing.
6. Changes and rollbacks
Updating software can change how an application behaves. If something breaks during our work, we roll back to the previous working state first, then fix forward with your agreement. Fixing application code beyond what your plan includes is billed as extra engineering, only after you approve a quote.
7. Liability
We do the work carefully and to the standard of an experienced systems engineer. We can't guarantee that a server will never be compromised, by these flaws or anything else, and we aren't responsible for compromises that happened before our work started. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we're not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data.
8. Confidentiality
We treat everything we learn about your systems as confidential and use it only to do the work. Reports belong to you.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force when you approve a quote applies to that job.
